India has doubled down on high-value electronics manufacturing, approving 17 new projects worth about in under the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) , news agencies reported on November 17. The government expects these projects to generate cumulative production of ₹65,111 crore, marking a significant step in its plan to build a resilient supply chain and strengthen domestic capabilities.The latest approvals take the total number of sanctioned projects under the scheme to 24. They cover six categories of components and are spread across nine states.
