Volkswagen to invest $186B through 2030

The Volkswagen Group, which includes the Porsche and Audi brands, plans to invest 160 billion euros ($186 billion) over the next five years, Chief Executive Oliver Blume told weekly Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAS). "The focus is on Germany and Europe. On products, technologies, production facilities and infrastructure," Blume was quoted as saying. "At the same time, we finance developments in future-oriented fields such as battery cells, software and autonomous driving."

Deepfake regulation bill tabled in LS

Shiv Sena leader Shrikant Shinde on Friday introduced a Private Member’s Bill in the Lok Sabha seeking a dedicated legal framework to regulate deepfakes and protect individuals from misuse of the technology.The Regulation of Deepfake Bill proposes mandatory prior consent from people depicted in deepfake content and outlines penalties for creating or sharing manipulated media with malicious intent.“Misuse of deepfakes for harassment, deception and misinformation has escalated, creating an urgent need for regulatory safeguards,” Shinde said while introducing the Bill.
