Will weddings, travel drive India's hotel sector to new heights in H2 FY26?

ET Intelligence Group: The domestic hotel sector is likely to report growth driven by average room rate (ARR) in the coming quarters. After a muted first half of the current fiscal year marked by extended monsoon and geopolitical jitters, the second half is likely to show a rebound given a pick-up in weddings and travel. Revenue per available room (RevPAR) growth is likely to remain in the mid-to-high single digit for the year. Top picks of analysts include Chalet Hotels, Indian Hotels, Lemon Tree Hotels and Apeejay Surrendra Park Hotels, with 18-42% upside to the current market price of these stocks. Geographically, hotels in Bengaluru, New Delhi and Hyderabad continued to outperform peers, while those in Mumbai lagged due to relatively weaker RevPAR growth in the September 2026 quarter.

Silver’s record rally continues, analysts see further 20% upside by Q1 2026

Mumbai: The record-breaking run in silver, a top-performing asset this year, is seeing no signs of ebbing as strong investor demand amid supply pressures could drive prices to higher levels. The white metal, which hit a new all-time high of over $67 per ounce in international markets on Friday after more than doubling in 2025, may be on course to further run up by as much as 20% in the first quarter of 2026, said analysts. India’s core sectors grow 1.8% in November

India’s eight core infrastructure sectors recorded a growth of 1.8% in November 2025 compared with the year-ago period, supported by higher production of cement, steel, fertilisers and coal, official data released on Monday showed.The combined Index of Eight Core Industries (ICI), which tracks coal, crude oil, natural gas, refinery products, fertilisers, steel, cement and electricity, accounts for 40.27% of the weight of items in the Index of Industrial Production (IIP).The final growth rate of the core sector for October 2025 stood at (-) 0.1%. New Zealand commits $20b under India FTA

New Delhi, New Zealand has committed to invest USD 20 billion in India over the next 15 years under the free trade agreement between the two countries, an official statement said on Monday. The commitment is in line with a similar trade pact that India implemented with the four-nation European bloc EFTA (European Free Trade Association) in October this year. Under that agreement, EFTA has committed to invest USD 100 billion in 15 years. Both the countries have announced the conclusion of the negotiations. It is likely to be signed in the next three months and will be implemented after that as it requires approval from New Zealand.
