Domestic carrier IndiGo, which is being probed for massive operational disruption earlier this month, cancelled around 50 flights on Tuesday, according to the airline's website. The flights have been cancelled from across airports, including Mumbai, Delhi, Varanasi, Pune, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Indore, and Patna, among others. The airline, however, did not provide any reason for these cancellations. Private equity and venture capital investments in the country surged 31 per cent to USD 5.6 billion in November, according to a report on Tuesday.This has helped narrow the gap in overall deal activity, with total investments reaching USD 49.3 billion in the first 11 months of 2025, accounting for 88 per cent of the USD 56.2 billion deal value recorded in the previous year, it added.The report by industry lobby group IVCA and consultancy firm EY said the deal values in November rose 4 per cent compared to USD 5.4 billion in October.By number of deals, the transactions were flat at 101 year-on-year and slightly higher than 109 in October.The deals are expected to close broadly in line with, or marginally below, last year's total, the firm's partner Vivek Soni said."Valuations continue to re

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said Tuesday it would inject Rs 2.90 lakh crore of durable liquidity into the banking system through bond purchases and a dollar-rupee swap, as tight cash conditions push short-term rates above the central bank’s policy target.The RBI said it would buy Rs 2 lakh crore of government bonds via open market operations (OMO) in four tranches of Rs 50,000 crore each - on December 29, January 5, January 12 and January 22.It will also conduct a $10-billion buy/sell swap auction on Jan. 13 to ease dollar liquidity. ZURICH: China has launched a trade dispute with India over solar cells, solar modules and IT goods, requesting dispute consultations on the matter, the World Trade Organization said on Tuesday."China said the measures in question include India's tariff treatment and certain measures that China said are contingent upon the use of domestic inputs and otherwise discriminate against Chinese imports," the WTO said in a statement.Less than a week ago, India said it had imposed anti-dumping duties on cold rolled steel imports from China for five years to protect its domestic industry.
