India exports may hit $950 bn by FY27

New Delhi: India's goods and services exports could reach $840-850 billion in FY26 and rise to about $950 billion in 2026-27, driven by free trade agreements particularly with West Asian countries and strength in services and technology-led sectors such as electronics, exporters said. Rising tariff barriers and climate-linked trade restrictions, however, are expected to pose significant challenges to sustaining export growth, they added."The worst for Indian exports is over and we expect tech-driven sectors to do well. MG Motor India 2025 sales up 19%

JSW MG Motor India recorded a 19 per cent year-on-year sales growth at 70,554 units in calendar year 2025 compared to 2024. The company registered 6,500 wholesale units in December 2025, reflecting sustained demand across its internal combustion engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicle (EV) portfolios, JSW MG Motor India said in a statement. MG SELECT, the brand's luxury retail channel, witnessed 38 per cent month-on-month wholesale growth, it added.The company said it has also crossed the cumulative EV sales milestone of over 1 lakh units.

DGCA hauls up AI pilots over safety issues

India’s aviation regulator, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, has issued a show-cause notice to pilots of Air India following serious safety concerns linked to the operation of certain flights. According to the notice dated December 29, 2025, the issues relate mainly to Flight AI-358 and its related operations, including Flight AI-357.The regulator has asked the pilots to explain within 14 days why action should not be taken against them for alleged violations of aviation safety rules.During one of the flights, the crew reportedly received system warnings and a smell of smoke was detected near one of the aircraft doors. Records also show that similar technical problems had occurred on the same aircraft during five earlier flights, pointing to a continuing mechanical issue.Despit

Sovereign wealth funds pour $132 billion into US, emerging markets take a hit

In 2025, sovereign wealth and public pension fund investors poured a staggering $132 billion, roughly half of their total investments for the year, into the United States, according to the latest annual report from Global SWF. By contrast, major emerging markets drew almost a third less than in 2024, despite posting strong returns.The report highlighted that sovereign wealth funds now manage record assets of $15 trillion, contributing to a historic $60 trillion in combined assets under management across state owned investors, public pension funds and central banks.
