Is a big India-US trade deal taking shape?

A US trade team that’s currently in India for negotiations has extended its stay, according to people familiar with the matter, in a sign talks are progressing ahead of a July deadline.The team, which was initially scheduled to hold talks with Indian officials on June 5-6, will now be staying till Tuesday to continue discussions, the people said, asking not to be identified because the information isn’t public. Most of the issues may get finalized within a week, the people estimated.India and the US are working on a phased trade deal with an early agreement targeted for July, the deadline for implementation of the so-called reciprocal tariffs. Adani cement powers 30% of India's infra: CEO

Adani Group firm Ambuja Cements -- the second largest cement producer in the country -- contributes to nearly 30 per cent of the cement used for India's homes and infrastructure, the company said in its latest annual report. Ambuja Cements, which has crossed 100 MTPA (Million Tonnes Per Annum) capacity in FY25 in a record time, mainly through acquisitions, now aims to reach 118 MTPA by FY 2026 and 140 MTPA by FY 2028, primarily through brownfield expansion projects. "Ambuja Cements, now a core part of the Adani Group's cement business, contributes to nearly 30 per cent of India's homes and infrastructure. Popular urban bikes lose traction

New Delhi: Sales of motorcycles with an engine capacity of 150-200 cc, mostly bought in India's metros larger cities, declined 9% in FY25, mirroring FMCG sales that have also been hit by slowing consumption in urban markets, besides patrons not being enthused about the models on offer.Things haven't improved much since then. Sales of such bikes fell 31% to 94,489 units in April, the only month for which Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) data is available.
