Nokia keen on setting up GCC in Karnataka

Nokia Corporation has expressed interest in establishing a Global Capability Centre (GCC) and additional research centres in Karnataka, Industries Minister M B Patil said. Water scare again: Many fall ill in Mhow

In an incident that brought back memories of the recent water-linked deaths in Indore in Madhya Pradesh, around two dozen residents of Mhow town of the same state fell ill after allegedly consuming contaminated drinking water, news agencies reported on January 23. The cases prompted an emergency response from district authorities and a late-night visit by Indore Collector Shivam Verma on Thursday.The cases were reported from Patti Bazaar and Chandar Marg areas, where residents began complaining of vomiting and other symptoms, PTI reported.According to officials, 22 people reported illness, with nine currently undergoing treatment in hospital and the rest receiving care at home.Most of those affected are children, officials said.
