Incoming senior Trump administration officials have begun questioning career civil servants who work on the White House National Security Council about who they voted for in the 2024 election, their political contributions and whether they have made social media posts that could be considered incriminating by President-elect Donald Trump's team, according to a U.S. official familiar with the matter. At least some of these nonpolitical employees have begun packing up their belongings since being asked about their loyalty to Trump - after they had earlier been given indications that they would be asked to stay on at the NSC in the new administration, the official said, speaking on the condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive personnel matters. ET Intelligence Group: A CEO is often the first casualty when a consumer company in India starts underperforming. A similar trend of roping in a CEO from an MNC was seen in the case of Tata Consumer Products, Godrej Consumer Products, Colgate-Palmolive India, Jubilant Foodworks, United Breweries and, more recently, Nestle India. In April 2020, Ajoy Misra, a Tata Group veteran stepped down as the CEO and managing director of Tata Consumer Pr
The current trend of weakening rupee is unlikely to impact India’s trade balance adversely or significantly impact inflation or growth prospects, even as it will hurt importers."The impact of a weak rupee on imported inflation is expected to be limited with commodity prices expected to remain subdued. This is based on global growth remaining weak, especially China" said Gaura Sengupta, chief economist, IDFC Bank. " From a macro stability perspective it is better to allow the rupee to depreciate as it reduces the drag on fx reserves and banking system liquidity. A large part of the fx cover has got eroded by significant dollar selling by RBI."The rupee touched a new low Monday at 86.58 against the greenback, weakening by 0.7 percent in a single day. 117213875Though a weak rupee theoret
