Union Budget 2026: Paytm shares surge 9%. Here’s what’s driving the rally

One 97 Communications, which operates fintech platform Paytm, saw its shares surge 9% to hit the day's high of Rs 1,244.05 on the BSE in an otherwise weak trading session. The price action was accompanied by a strong volume, which jumped 1.5 times on the BSE. The rally is believed to be on the back of a Rs 2,000 crore incentive allocation for UPI and RuPay in Budget 2026.
