CCI approves acquisition of Haldiram

The Competition Commission of India (CCI) on Tuesday approved the acquisition of certain issued and paid-up equity share capital of Haldiram Snacks Food Private Limited by Alpha Wave Ventures II LP and Alpha Wave IHC CI, LPOn March 31, Haldiram, the country's leading snack and food brand, had confirmed selling its stake to IHC (International Holding Company) and Alpha Wave Global. The announcement had come a day after Haldiram confirmed acquisition of a minority stake by Singapore-based global investment firm Temasek. Accenture guidance spooks D-Street, investors trim IT bets

Mumbai: Investors cut exposure to information technology (IT) stocks on Monday as Accenture's lower-than-expected revenue growth guidance and weak order flows dented sentiment. Analysts said although no major declines are expected, the outlook remains bleak.Nifty IT fell 1.5% against the 0.6% dip in Nifty. All 10 stocks in the index closed lower. Oracle Financial Services fell 2.7%, while Infosys and HCL Technologies dropped 2.3% each. Tata Consultancy Services and Wipro shed 1.3% and 1.1%, respectively. Equities decline amid US-Iran tensions and rising oil prices

Mumbai: Indian equities retreated Monday after the US risked its own billion-dollar-plus military assets to pound subsurface Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend, but the broadest gauges erased initial losses to end about half a percent lower following modest gains in crude oil prices."Markets will closely watch for further escalation in West Asia that could affect oil supply and pricing," said Nilesh Shah, MD, Kotak Mahindra AMC.
