The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has said that it has found multiple safety lapses across airline operations, airport infrastructure, and simulator training, in a recent surveillance conducted by it at major airports including those in Mumbai and Delhi. In a report released Tuesday, the aviation watchdog said the findings raise concerns about ineffective defect monitoring, procedural violations, and outdated data across the system. DGCA has instructed concerned operators to implement necessary corrective actions within seven days. Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla's Axiom-4 mission to the International Space Station is now eyeing a launch on June 25, NASA announced on Tuesday. The Axiom-4 mission, which marks the return to space for India, Hungary, and Poland, was earlier scheduled for lift-off from NASA's Kennedy Space Centre in Florida on June 25 onboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket at 12:01 pm IST on Wednesday. "NASA, Axiom Space, and SpaceX are targeting 2:31 a.m. EDT (12:01 IST), Wednesday, June 25, for launch of the fourth private astronaut mission to the International Space Station, Axiom Mission 4," a NASA statement said. The Delhi government issued SOPs to enforce the ban on refuelling end-of-life vehicles, mandating petrol pumps to maintain a log of all denied fuel transactions involving such vehicles, officials said on Tuesday.According to a directive from the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), beginning July 1, all end-of-life (EOL) vehicles-which include diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 years-will be prohibited from being refuelled in Delhi, regardless of their state of registration. In the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) issued on June 17, the transport department specified that fuel stations must display mandatory signage reading: 'Fuel will not be dispensed to End of Life Vehicles -- i.e. 15 years old Petrol/CNG and 10 years old Diesel w.e.f. 01.0
