Dalai Lama reveals succession plan: How will the next Buddhist spiritual leader be selected? - All you need to know

As the Dalai Lama turned 90, he clarified that his reincarnation will occur, with his institution leading the selection, guided by Tibetan Buddhist traditions. He suggested his successor could be from the diaspora and might not be male. China, however, insists that the selection requires their approval, following a traditional process within China.
