Tata Motors is all set to unveil the much-anticipated 2025 Sierra SUV in India today. The launch event kicks off at 12 PM. While the focus for now is on the ICE variants, an all-electric version is expected to arrive later. The Sierra — a nameplate that disappeared from the market back in 2003 — is rumored to start at around ₹10–11 lakh (ex-showroom). Ahead of the launch, some dealerships have begun noting down customer interest with small token amounts, sometimes as low as ₹11,000. These, however, are not official bookings; rather, dealers are gauging demand and keeping potential buyers in the loop. Formal reservations are likely to open right after the launch. Tata Sierra: Design & Styling The 2025 Sierra adopts a completely modern design while retaining a hint of its iconic DNA. The SUV sports bold Sierra branding on both ends, a sleek connected LED light bar, a textured grille, and headlamps positioned lower in the bumper. The vertically-stacked fog lamps sit at the edges, adding a rugged touch. From the profile, the SUV pays homage to the original Sierra’s signature Alpine window-style silhouette. Tata has revised the theme with a partially blacked-out B-pillar, dark C-pillar and a contrasting black roof, delivering a floating-roof effect. Premium styling cues include flush-fitting door handles, black ORVMs, 19-inch dual-tone alloys, wheel-arch cladding, skid plates and a shark-fin antenna. Tata Sierra Interior & Features Inside, the SUV offers a futuristic and tech-focused cabin with a dual-tone black and grey theme. The dashboard houses three digital screens — a driver display and two infotainment units that can share features and media seamlessly. A new four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and touch-based controls also makes its way in from the Curvv. Feature highlights include: Dual-zone climate control Ventilated & electrically adjustable front seats Wireless smartphone charging Rear window sunshades 360-degree camera Level 2 ADAS suite Electronic parking brake with auto-hold Connected car technologies Powertrain Expectations Under the hood, the Sierra is expected to be powered by Tata’s new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, showcased earlier at Auto Expo 2023. This unit could deliver about 170 hp and 280 Nm, paired with both manual and automatic transmissions. Additionally, a more affordable 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine may also join the lineup, though Tata hasn’t confirmed it yet. A 1.5-litre diesel option, already available in the Nexon, Altroz and Curvv, is also likely.
