Mumbai Indians trade out Arjun Tendulkar

Mumbai Indians have made significant changes to their squad ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction. Arjun Tendulkar has been officially traded to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), while the five-time champions have strengthened their spin attack by bringing back Mayank Markande in a trade with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).Arjun, first picked by MI in the 2021 mini-auction for Rs 20 lakh, did not debut that year. He was re-signed for Rs 30 lakh in the 2022 mega-auction and made his IPL debut in 2023, taking three wickets in four matches. After featuring in only one game in IPL 2024 and going unsold initially in the 2025 mega-auction, he was again picked by MI at his base price of Rs 30 lakh but did not play a match that season.Markande, traded at his existing price of Rs 30 lakh, returns to Mumbai Indians — the franchise where he began his IPL journey. The leg-spinner represented MI in 2018, 2019 and 2022, winning the title in 2019. He later played for Rajasthan Royals (2021) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (2023–24), before joining KKR for the 2025 season. Across 37 IPL games, he has taken 37 wickets, with his breakthrough season coming in 2018 where he picked up 15 wickets in 14 matches, including a best of 4/23.The Punjab spinner, who has also played one T20I for India, is expected to provide MI with an aggressive and adaptable spin option across varying conditions.Mumbai Indians Released PlayersV Satyanarayana RajuReece TopleyKL ShrijithKarm SharmaArjun Tendulkar (traded out)Bevon JacobsMujeeb ur RahmanLizaad WilliamsVignesh PuthurMumbai Indians Retained PlayersWill JacksSherfane Rutherford (new signing)Mayank Markande (traded in)Dewald BrevisGurjapneet Singh
