Airlines cancel 129 flights in Delhi amid fog

Amid dense fog and low visibility in Delhi and adjoining areas, flight operations continue to be impacted in the national capital for several consecutive days. Airlines cancelled 66 arrivals and 63 departures, a total of 129 flights from the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport on Saturday.IndiGo cancelled 22 Delhi flights, including arrivals and departures, with a total of 82 flight cancellations on Friday, without citing any reason. The airline, in an early morning advisory, said that flight schedules might be impacted in Ranchi, Jammu and Hindon due to low visibility and fog.In an advisory issued on Saturday morning, the Delhi Airport authority said that low visibility procedures are in progress.'Very poor' air qualityMeanwhile, Delhi's air quality deteriorated on Saturday morning, with an overall Air Quality Index (AQI) of 384 at 8 am, placing it in the 'very poor' category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
