Joe Root's 29-run innings against India in the fifth Test at The Oval propelled him past Sachin Tendulkar to become the third-highest run-scorer in home Tests. Root now boasts 7,220 runs in England, surpassing Tendulkar's 7,216 in India. He also crossed 2,000 Test runs against India at home.
