Raj Babbar, a prominent actor of the 1970s, first encountered Smita Patil on the set of 'Bheegi Palkein' in Rourkela, Odisha. Despite an initial disagreement, Babbar was immediately impressed by Patil's strong personality. Their relationship blossomed, leading to marriage in 1983 and the birth of their son, Prateik, in 1986.
