The Madras High Court has placed a hold on the release of Karthi's 'Vaa Vaathiyaar', prohibiting its exhibition on any platform until outstanding dues of ₹21.78 crore are cleared. The court denied the producer's request for a Pongal release, citing insufficient repayment and directing the auction of the film's rights due to a decade-old investment dispute.
