Today, in the civilisational city of VARANASI — where Dharma meets law and faith meets justice — Hon’ble Chief Justice of India, Justice SURYA KANT, visited Kashi on 17 January 2026, underscoring the judiciary’s role in strengthening constitutional governance, public service, and integrated justice delivery across the nation.

In an august function following the foundation-stone laying of six Integrated Court Complexes in Uttar Pradesh, the Chief Justice emphasised the judiciary’s mission to make justice both accessible and exemplary for the entire country.

Justice Surya Kant said:

“To realize the Constitutional dream, I can proudly say that with the construction of the six integrated court complexes — and the four others yet to be built in Uttar Pradesh — these structures will become an example for the entire country. These integrated court complexes will set a benchmark for the whole of India.”

The visit reinforced the Supreme Court’s commitment to judicial infrastructure that promotes speedier justice, institutional efficiency, and dignity for all stakeholders in the justice delivery system.

Justice Surya Kant’s message linked constitutional ideals with real-world institutional reform, highlighting the transformative impact of modern, integrated judicial facilities on public trust and confidence in the rule of law.

His presence in Varanasi — a city steeped in philosophy, learning, and public service — stood as a powerful affirmation of the synergy between India’s civilisational ethos and its constitutional justice system.

The Chief Justice’s remarks conveyed that judicial infrastructure development is integral to fulfilling the constitutional promise of equality before law and timely justice for every citizen.

MESSAGE FROM VARANASI TO THE NATION

Justice is not confined to courtrooms alone — it lives in the confidence of the people.

India’s judiciary remains committed to serving the Constitution with humility, excellence, and inclusive access.

Judicial modernisation and infrastructure reform are essential pillars of equitable justice for citizens across urban and rural India alike.

From Kashi’s sacred ghats to the seat of India’s highest constitutional court, the idea of justice stands renewed — anchored in constitutional faith and institutional service to the people.

INDIA’S JOURNEY TOWARDS RESPONSIVE, DIGNIFIED, AND FORWARD-LOOKING JUSTICE CONTINUES — ROOTED IN CULTURE, GUIDED BY LAW, AND DRIVEN BY SERVICE.

Harmony • Dignity • Rule of Law
